Why cannabis tinctures?

Are you just not that into cannabis edibles, vaping or smoking? You’re not alone! Have you tried no-fuss, fast-acting cannabis tinctures? The ease of taking a cannabis tincture makes it by far one of the simplest ways to enjoy cannabis.

Tinctures are essentially cannabis extracts formulated to be taken orally under the tongue. Just a few drops and you’re done. Seriously, it’s that easy. Typically, cannabis tinctures are developed by soaking cannabis in a base liquid like food-grade alcohol, oil or glycerin and steeped until the compounds of the cannabis plant have fully extracted into the liquid. Once complete, the tincture is ready to dose and consume. Most tinctures are administered sublingually,  or by placing a few drops under the tongue.

At R.Greenleaf, we offer a variety of cannabis tinctures formulated using clean, potent cannabis and quality ingredients from sources we know and trust right here in New Mexico. Shop our collection of expertly-crafted cannabis tinctures.

Cannabis tinctures vs. edibles

Both edibles and tinctures are consumed orally but the key difference is that they access the bloodstream through different systems in the body which impacts the way you experience the effects of each. Since edibles have to be digested and pass through the stomach and liver, the effects often take longer to feel but are stronger when they kick in. Tinctures however do not move through the liver because they are absorbed under the tongue making the come up on a tincture faster and less intense.
